DR WENDY JACKSON
Consultant Child, Adolescent & Family Psychiatrist
Dr Wendy Jackson is a qualified medical specialist with a Medical degree and specialised medical training in Psychiatry, with sub-specialised training in Child, Adolescent and Family Psychiatry.
Dr Jackson also has a background in Paediatrics.
Prior to her medical degree, Dr Jackson completed a degree in Psychology at the University of Sydney graduating with First-Class Honours.

Dr Wendy Jackson has over seventeen years of experience in Mental Health on the North Coast, and more than thirty years’ experience in Medicine and Mental Health.

Dr Jackson was a clinical lecturer at The University of Queensland and a senior lecturer in Clinical Psychiatry at The University of Sydney.
Dr Jackson was involved in the establishment of a local family-based eating disorder service and continues to provide mentorship for Specialist Medical (RANZCP) trainees.

Dr Jackson specialises in the comprehensive assessment and management of children and adolescents; from pre-schoolers to late teens who are experiencing a range of psychological, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Examples include children or adolescents with: pervasive developmental disorders, autism spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, anxiety, OCD, depression, adjustment difficulties, family problems, school and peer difficulties, parent-child relationship difficulties, and eating disorders.
Dr Jackson uses a holistic approach and combination of treatment modalities including psychological therapies such as: cognitive behaviour therapy and supportive psychotherapy, as well as family therapy and medication.
A collaborative approach with families and other service providers is supported.

Dr Wendy Jackson undertakes assessments and ongoing management of children and adolescents across the North Coast of NSW.
She is based in the Byron Hinterland and does initial assessments and ongoing reviews by videoconference. Dr Jackson is also available for review appointments at face to face consultations in rooms in Goonellabah.
